Free webinar on the implications for veterans of the Supreme Court’s Decision in Soto v. United States on Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC)

WHAT:  Free webinar on the implications for veterans of the Supreme Court’s Decision in Soto v. United States on CRSC

In June 2025, the Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in Soto v. United States, a class action lawsuit brought by the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP), and our pro bono partner law firm, Sidley Austin LLP. The case concerned the denial of retroactive Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) benefits. This ruling represents a significant victory for thousands of combat veterans who were previously denied the full retroactive CRSC benefits to which they are entitled. CRSC is a tax-free benefit provided by the Department of Defense to retired veterans whose disabilities were combat-related.

To inform veterans about this historic decision, NVLSP is pleased to offer a free informational webinar. The webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of CRSC, summarize the Soto decision, address implementation of the Soto decision, and identify future issues pertaining to veterans’ eligibility for retroactive CRSC benefits.
