Politico's Josh Gerstein reported on the record settlement of the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) fee case which was filed yesterday. NVLSP and the National Consumer Law Center and Alliance for Justice were plaintiffs in the case. Law firm Gupta Wassler filed the class action in 2016 which sought to challenge the fees that the judiciary charges for access to records through PACER fees. NVLSP Executive Director Paul Wright was cited in the story.“Today’s settlement in this historic class action is a major step towards transparency, access to justice, and public understanding of the federal courts."
